Sid Tingle, (1927 – 2006) was born in Butte, Nebraska.  He was an artist, commercial artist, and illustrator.  His watercolors deftly depict the architecture and rural landscapes of the Midwest.  Many of his paintings depict the rustic landscapes of the areas close to his childhood home – the Nebraska Sandhills, Niobrara River, and the cattle farms.  His iconic paintings of round barns captured what is now a bygone era.  He also particularly enjoyed painting architecture that included Victorian homes, dusty roads, and the nearly forgotten building of the ranches on the Great Plains.  Tingle had several shows in Lincoln, Nebraska as well as other regional shows and his art appeared in several publications
