ALEX SCHLOSS, SIR ALEX SCHLOSS, OR ALEX S, was born in New York City and is a painter noted for his uniqueness of style.  An almost three-dimensional quality is achieved with careful texturing and layering of oil paints and sometimes mixed with sand and marble dust.  It is considered mixed media oil painted fresco.  Other works include charcoal on paper and acrylic paintings as well as other media.  In addition, Alex was the owner and curator of the Gallery at The Plaza Hotel for over 25 years. His patronage extends the world over with his work still being in demand by both new and established clients.

Alex’s work has been exhibited in many places around the country including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Harkness Gallery in NYC, The Plaza Hotel, NYC, Public Collections Smithsonian Institute, Washington, DC, and many other galleries.  He has painted portraits of celebrities and royalty as well.
